Regular staff surveys are an important management tool for gathering feedback and demonstrate appreciation for staff. Through targeted surveys and appropriate follow-up processes, organisations can build trust and thus lay the foundations for a successful long-term working relationship. However, surveys and their results alone do not trigger processes of change and development. This requires standards in the design, implementation and evaluation of the surveys, as well as in accompanying measures, which include, amongst other things, communication and support for managers in deriving and implementing measures.
Companies and organisations that are awarded the ‘Employers We Trust.’ label by Empiricon are characterised not only by a high regard for their staff, but also by a commitment to continuous development. They are willing to take a close look, ask questions and make comparisons. They want to know which strengths they can draw on and what potential for improvement can be harnessed to ensure a successful future.
Swiss companies and the University of Fribourg, in collaboration with the independent consultancy and research firm Empiricon, have developed the quality criteria required to obtain the ‘Employers We Trust.’ label. ‘Employers We Trust.’ is the quality label for companies that use surveys systematically and strategically to gather meaningful feedback on the working environment and use this to initiate targeted development processes.
